Greek prosecutors say a British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn son has been taken from a hospital to give testimony before an investigating magistrate.
Officials at a prosecutor's office on the island of Crete said the magistrate would decide later Thursday whether the 20-year-old woman would be held in pretrial detention. Police escorted her to the magistrate's office from the hospital.
Police say the woman gave birth alone in her hotel room early Monday, at a holiday resort on Crete. A state coroner has said the newborn was found dead, showing signs of suffocation.
